A dynamometer is a simple device that allows you to accurately adjust the belt tension according to the vehicle documentation. Specialists from some automakers use this device to adjust the tension of drive belts. To test the belt tension, a special dynamometer is attached to a short arm, for example, between the toothed wheels of the camshafts.

Using this device, you can understand the quality condition of the belt. A new belt has a large pre-tension. The dynamometer is used for testing in almost all specialized workshops, such as GM, VAG, TOYOTA, etc. The special dynamometer is a complete analogue of the KM-128A belt tension tester (used by GM dealers) and VW210 (used by VAG Group dealers).
