Modern charging is more functional – their mode of operation is regulated by a microprocessor device, which regulates the output value of current and voltage for optimal battery charging, and the charging itself is carried out not by a constant supply of voltage to the terminals, but by short pulses. This is especially important for the battery gel (GEL) or dry (AGM) type – they need a special mode.

Some chargers have a fast charge mode – “Hot”. This option allows you to “revive” the battery literally within 15-20 minutes. However, resorting to this possibility too often is extremely harmful for a battery.

Starting devices

Able to give the required electric current to the fuel pump, ignition system, existing electronics, on-board computer, starter, etc., with the main goal – to start the engine. then pick up the generator, and the car will again be ready to go.

The peculiarity of their electrical circuit is the ability to deliver the required high power for that short period of time, until the car starts up enough to crank the engine with the starter even in the coldest weather. To avoid circuit burnout, they are necessarily supplied with overload protection.

Starting devices most often work from the household alternating current main. However, there are models with autonomy and mobility – they have a built-in battery that needs to be recharged from time to time. The presence of such a device in the trunk of the car will help to avoid trouble with the battery in a long journey.


They are especially popular with car owners, as they combine both possibilities. They operate on AC power, and help their owner in any situation — and charge the battery that has run down, and start the car that has stopped during the winter.
